Public Acts: What does Mai Mai mean?

The PublicActs/Johannesburg spatial intervention was the 6 week product of a critical and
incremental process of engagement with the Kwa Mai Mai Committee and the Kwa Mai Mai Food
Court’s users.

Through a series of public interventions around gathering (seating) & participative planting exercise 1to1 and fellow Public Acts participant, Lilian Transplanter & Wayward Sun (Ambush), began uncovering some of the delicate layers that constitute the spatial and social dynamic of the Kwa Mai Mai Market.
