1to1, alongside Urbanists for Equity(U4E), were commissioned by Local Studio to conduct a series of action-research spatial surveys in Mayfair’s Church Street. This research was intended to uncover the nature of the residents forms of organisation, ownership and perception of the public space of Church Street.
1to1 and U4E worked with Counterspace and University of Johannesburg’s GSA_Unit 14 students to conduct a series of surveys, mappings and spatial studies to build a layered and detailed picture of how the Mayfair residents value and perceive Church Street.
