SLOVO PLAYGROUND 2013
In 2013 1to1 incorporated the University of Johannesburg’s undergraduate department (with Denver Hendricks and Yusuf Chothria) with the University of Pretoria post-graduate Architecture ( with Carin Combrinck) students focussing the project on space for children – who had been a major cause for most of the damages to Slovo Hall since 2010.
Students worked with the various community organisations to develop a playground strategy that would be robust and work with the way the children use space currently. The proposal looked closely at safety and durability and is still under construction.
